Breaking News: Empires Fall!

Rome-

Following the end of the reign of the emperor Marcus Aurelius the empire went downhill. The economy weakened for many reasons. Tribes and pirates were disrupting trade, and having reached their limit of expansion the Romans couldn’t find any new resources. Then the government raised taxes. This caused inflation. Agriculture was going downhill during this as well. Along with all of these problems, the military was unorganized and not as strong as it had been in the past. The military started siding with other nations against Rome. With these problems, Rome still thrived for 200 more years. Following those 200 years, the Empire crumbled internally.

Greece: The fall of the ancient Greek empire was essentially due to conflicting

perspectives between city-states. When defending themselves against the Persians, the city-states managed to band together for their lives were at stake. Unfortunately, that unity did not last long. Constant war separated the city-states into alliances and tugged at their wallets as well. This, in turn, stressed the fact that neighboring states were growing stronger in both size and power. At this time, the citizens of ancient Greece did not wish to marry or bear children because they prioritized military over family, resulting in a substantial birth-rate decrease. As resources dried  up and the empire of Greece faded, their customs and traditions lived on.

China - Qin Shuangdi, the emperor of the Qin Dynasty, was a very fierce and cruel ruler that was able to conquer other settlements and greatly improve the society, while being extremely strict. The next ruler, Qin Shuangdi’s son, was not as forceful and without order, many peasants and citizens revolted against him. Sadly, this was the fall of the QIn Empire. The Han Dynasty was split into two empires because of a temporary time in which the Han were not in control. These are known as Former Han and Later Han. Former Han ended because of the no balance of economics. This was caused by the rich getting more money than the poor at the less fortunate’s expense. The Former Han lasted much longer than the Later Han, which only prospered for a few centuries. The instability of the social, political and economical issues generated the quick demise of the Later Han. After the end of all of the Han Dynasties, the empire was split into three conflicting kingdoms.
